Colonnade Insurance donated 120 thousand dollars during the epidemic

Recognizing the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on healthcare communities and humanitarian organizations, Fairfax Financial Holdings Limited has donated a total of $ 120,000 in Central Europe to foundations to help those in need of buying protective equipment to fight the virus. All this is done through the branches of Colonnade Insurance SA, a subsidiary of Colonnade Insurance SA, which also operates in Poland, Czech Republic, Slovakia, Romania, Bulgaria and Hungary.


Supported funds play an important role during the COVID-19 pandemic, helping healthcare facilities, families and the elderly in difficult social and medical situations.


Colonnade Insurance is a subsidiary of Fairfax. Fairfax is a holding company that, through its subsidiaries, provides property and casualty insurance and reinsurance, as well as related investment management activities.


“We are very lucky that we were prepared for the epidemic and were able to continue our operations without hindrance. This gave us the opportunity to help some of the organizations that, in our opinion, need it the most. ”Said Gabor Kovacs, head of the Hungarian branch of Colonnade Insurance SA.


The Hungarian branch chose the Children's Nutrition Foundation, for which nearly 5 million forints were allocated in charitable aid, and another 5 million forints were used to support the Hungarian Emergency and Rescue Fund. The company has partnered with a number of Hungarian hospitals, donating a total of HUF 1 million for material assistance such as non-contact thermometers, disinfectants, masks and gloves to help the daily work of healthcare workers.
